The Plesner decision seems to have set stress-related coverage on a slippery slope with a potential bushel basket of cash at the bottom for unscrupulous workers to land in.

Now, if a worker need only demonstrate that one or a combination of traumatic events has caused psychic injury, is bullying, mobbing or abuse of managerial authority a “safety issue” managed by WorkSafeBC? In other words, who investigates and who does the affected worker call — HR, the Safety Committee or WSBC?

If we thought “soft tissue” injury was hard to prove, we haven’t seen anything until we start dealing with psychic injury.
